JM92 Shock Oil
Originally developed from a mil spec aircraft landing gear oil under Aeroshell and Royco brands. It was knocked off for the off road racing world without the aviation mil spec to reduce the pricing. It was then tweaked along the way to perform better at even lower temperatures in the 08-10 time frame working with Ford on the Raptor program. This shock oil contains additives that provide excellent low & high temperature fluidity as well as exceptional anti-wear, oxidation – corrosion inhibition, and shear stability. In addition, metal deactivators and foam inhibitors are provided in this high viscosity index fluid to enhance performance for the challenges of high heat off-road racing.

It is a mineral oil base and natural rubber components are not compatible in any shock using this oil. Synthetic Rubbers, Buna, Viton, Urethane, Teflon, NHBR are all compatible with this oil.

Used By:
FOX Racing Shocks
Suspension Development Group (SDG)
ICON Vehicle Dynamics (Duplicated from Same supplier as JM92)
Pro Comp (off brand, duplicate)
Walker Evans Racing  (off brand, duplicate)

Recommended replacement for all manufacturers oil to increase quality and performance. Some MFG’ers not listed above may use a different viscosity so be aware of that prior to changing. As stable as this oil is you most likely wouldn’t know the difference in everyday driving. In performance applications you would probably notice better consistency through a much larger range of temps.

Viscosity: @ 100°C, 5.13
Viscosity Index: 370
Flash Point: 203F
Pour Point:-75 F

Not sure how much to order? Use this simple math

.004(gal/inch) x Shaft Stroke(in) x (Body OD(in) x Body OD(in) x 3.14)/4 = gallons.
For a 2.5x10 shock its .004x10x2.5x2.5x3.14/4 = .196 gallons per damper. This will get you estimated gallons needed with extra since it uses the OD, not ID of the shock to account for resi oil too.  Better to have extra than not enough when doing a service.
